Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans and line with parchment paper.
- Brew Earl Grey tea by steeping the tea bags in boiling water for five minutes; let cool.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition; then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with cooled brewed tea and milk until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before frosting.
