- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs (room temperature)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup whole milk (or plant-based milk)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans (toasted if desired)
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the eggs, vegetable oil, and milk until smooth. Combine with the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and pecans.
- Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Once cooled, drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with extra pecans.
