- 1 box (15 oz) angel food cake mix
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to the angel food cake mix package instructions. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix with cold water and beat until smooth. Pour into an ungreased tube pan.
- Bake in the preheated oven as directed until golden brown. Allow the cake to cool upside down on a rack.
- While cooling, mix the sliced strawberries with sugar in a bowl; let sit for 15 minutes to create syrup.
- Once cooled, remove the cake from the pan and slice. Serve topped with strawberries and whipped topping.
