Ingredients
- 4 cups Water
- 4 Black tea bags (or 4 tsp loose leaf)
- 1 large Orange
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 2 Star anises (optional)
- Honey or sugar (to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Orange slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil water in a saucepan. Zest the orange to obtain about one teaspoon of zest.
- Remove boiling water from heat. Add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, and star anises if using. Cover and steep for 5 to 8 minutes.
- Juice the orange while steeping. After steeping, remove tea bags and strain the mixture into a pitcher. Stir in the freshly squeezed orange juice and sweeten to taste.
- Cool tea to room temperature and refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve over ice cubes garnished with fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
